Eleanor: 10 things

1. Ellie LOVES her baby sister. She likes to come up the baby, touch her fingers, and then yell "Baby touch my han!!!" Whenever she notices the baby is awake, she'll suddenly yell "Baby eye open!!" Sometimes Ellie will want to hold Lucy; she'll sit in the couch and put her hands on her lap waiting for my to lay Lucy on top of them. I just love how she says "Oh! Baby Woocy!"
2. I somehow avoided this stage with Jude, but looks like my luck ran out with Eleanor. She now asks "Why mom?!" to EVERYTHING.
Me: It's time to get in the car!
Ellie: Why mom?
Me: Because we need to pick up Jude.
Ellie: Why mom?
Me: Because preschool is over and it's time for him to come home.
Ellie: Why mom?
Me: Because we love him and want him to come home!
Ellie: Why mom?
I fall for it every time.
3. Ellie's other saying: "I don't know." It's her response to things she doesn't know, but also to pretty much any question, like "will you hand me a diaper?" "I don't know."
4. Even for all her sweetness, Eleanor has a temper. And lots of tantrums. When I tell her no to something, she'll fall on the ground and start to fake cry.
Or she'll respond, "I.don't.want.to.mommy!"
5. I swear the only part of Ellie's hair that grows is her bangs. They are constantly in her in eyes, so much so that she's started to tilt her head up to look at things sometimes. Guess I need to increase the frequency of haircuts!
6. Eleanor has started to love being really physical, especially with her brother. We were in the store the other day and all the sudden she starts yelling "Jude! Fight!" and starts wrestling him to the ground! Anytime anyone is laying on the floor, it's basically an open invitation for "dog pile!" At dinnertime, she likes to jump up from the table and tell Jude to "chase me!" and proceeds to run in circles around the downstairs. Sadly, Jude isn't good at resisting Ellie's call for mischief.
7. She's really into painting her nails and putting on princess makeup. The nail polish usually gets wiped off almost immediately because she has to touch it, but it's so cute to watch her prance around showing off her nails to everyone who will listen. "I have purple let it go nails!" (I put white sparkles on her toes, so naturally they're frozen-themed.)
8. As I'm pulling more cute outfits for Lucy, I'll tell Ellie "oh! You used to wear this when you were a baby!" Immediately, she'll demand that I show her a picture. She's discovered that I have all our pictures on the computer upstairs and she'll beg me to "see pictures of me baby!" or "watch bideo of me baby!"

9. Eleanor does not like looking at the camera lately. Sometimes she'll say "cheese" and be looking in a totally different direction. And before I can even snap the photo she will run over and ask to "see me! see picture of me!" Other times she'll just flat out refuse and give me a super grumpy face in protest. Ellie does, however, love to "take" pictures on her pretend princess camera. "Say seaweed!" (it's from Octonauts)
10. A couple months ago (forgot to write about it earlier), Ellie fell hit the corner of her eye on the train table. Poor thing had a bad black eye for a week! Every time I looked at her I wanted to both cry and laugh.
