All Hallow's Eve

As if the last post wasn't enough pictures of kids in costumes... then there was actual Halloween!

We went trick or treating around our little cul-de-sac with our neighbor friends, and then continued on to the street next to us. Is it the new trend for everyone to just go trick or treating in the same few neighborhoods that are deemed "good?" Kinda makes me sad that everyone would rather bus into one street instead of showing their own streets some Halloween love, but maybe that's just me. Anyways, this one street was hopping (thanks to the reputation of one over-the-top house) and pretty crowded, like filling the street crowded at one part.

But the funniest part of Halloween in Danville? The parents. They all come out with their wine glasses, pulling their wagons with more wine. Halloween + street with policemen doing crowd control + adults passing out wine to each other... It's like a classier version of Isla Vista.

It was really fun, and we made a point to stop at the less visited parts of the neighborhood (away from the big house) and those houses were actually very glad we stopped by. Several couples told us we made their night by coming by with our cute kids. I vote we reverse this trend towards only "cool street" trick or treating--everyone should share in the Halloween joy!

But enough of my Halloween preaching... on to the kids in costumes!

all three of my kids have now worn this little pumpkin costume.
but in true 3rd child fashion, I only grabbed a couple quick photos of her because there was too much going on.
 trick or treating!!
Eleanor as Princess Belle
It's all she talked about for months before
And she still tells everyone she talks to about being Belle

Jude went as Peso the Octonaut
for those unfamiliar, Octonauts is a kids tv show from Australia. It's on Disney Jr but kind of obscure.
Pretty much no one knew who he was
they all just called him a sailor, so we just went with that
I'm pretty proud of this costume. I made it from thrift store clothes and felt.

Happy Halloween!
