a happy place
I promised myself I would post at least once a week, so I am keeping my goal and posting. True, nothing interesting has happened this past week, but I want to keep in the habit of posting! Here is life for us right now:
Peter is still working hard and saving the computer universe. Or something like that. Today, Peter bought us a Wii that he found cheap on craigslist. It came with a Wii fit, and apparently, I have such bad balance, my wii fit age is 36. THIRTY-SIX. I am feel useless...
But at least I can make cookies
Jude can now stand up by himself for quite a long time, but he refuses to try and move. We are trying to get him to push his little walker toy around, but he hates it. I think Jude realizes he can move much faster by crawling, so why would he do something as inefficient as walking? (He is Peter's child.) I also discovered that Jude is now TERRIFIED of the vacuum cleaner. He cries hysterically the entire time I vacuum, even if I'm holding him. Jude is so frightened, he cries when I even open the closet where we keep the vacuum. The other day I was trying to vacuum Jude's room, but found it difficult with a screaming baby on my hip. So I placed him in his crib while I cleaned. Jude got so scared, he literally curled up in a tiny ball, closed his eyes, and started whimpering. Hooray, I have officially traumatized my child so much, he curls into a fetal position and finds a "happy place." I can see the psych bills already...
On a more happy note, Jude also went to the doctor finally for his 9 month appointment (yay for finally having real person insurance!) He has finally broken 20 lbs and is in the 70th percentile for height! His head is still ridiculously large, but only 85th percentile now (down from 99th).
Jude is becoming more and more of a destructive toddler everyday. I always knew that kids get into everything, but I guess I didn't fully comprehend what that meant. It means EV.ER.Y.THING. Our apartment constantly looks like a babies r us exploded. Oh well. I still love that he's growing up and starting to do more things on his own. Its fun to watch him become a little person!
Jude has a little baby pool we put on the balcony.
He likes to crawl in and out, and play with his squirter toys.
Well, there you go. Hopefully next week there will be something more exciting to report.
