For her birthday we kind of skipped the traditional first birthday stuff and instead went to Disneyland! We were in SoCal and figured it would be a great way to celebrate Jude and Lucy with the whole family. This was the first time Grandma and Grandpa got to go with us to experience the magic as well! It definitely a great day and the best birthday ever, even if Lucy spent most of the day angry in the ergo haha.
Insisted on riding the carousel while everyone else waited in line for Casey Jr
Our first time meeting Ariel!
We're pretty much best friends with the princesses at this point.
Couldn't not meet Tiana. She was Eleanor's first princess love!
When Snow White asked her her name, Ellie responded "Eleanor Rigby."
Little Snow White on her birthday!
Princess sisters.
We were hardcore Disney people; got there before the park opened and stayed until MIDNIGHT when it closed. Our kids loved it and why not get every minute out of it for what you're paying haha. The girls and I found Mickey and Minnie at literally 11:45pm when everyone else went to watch Great Moments with Mr Lincoln (Grandpa's favorite).
Eleanor talks all the time about Minnie's witch costume. This was definitely a highlight and totally worth the late night :)
Since we skipped the usual birthday celebration, we finally did the traditional cake smash tonight. Better late than never!
Skyping with Grandma and Grandpa while we eat!

Here's a little bit about Lucy at one:
-Lucy takes steps now! She walks for short distances and can stand up in the middle of the room. I absolutely love the first steps!
-Lucy is an amazing sleeper. She still prefers two naps a day and 7 to 7 sleeping at night.
-She loves to eat! I feel bad because as the 3rd child I don't take a lot of time to prep awesome meals for her. She usually gets crackers and a banana and then more crackers throughout the day. I'm working on giving her more real food but we are so frequently on the go.
-She's a petite little girl, only 15% for height and weight. People often comment on how small she is.
-Lucy just discovered the stairs. Heaven help me. Our stairs are the worst for babies because they aren't carpeted and no baby gate can fit in the wide opening at the bottom. I spend most of my time these days chasing her away or carrying her down from the stairs. #reasonsigetnothingdonewhileshesawake
-Lucy likes to play but she mostly likes to play on top of me. She does not like to entertain herself really at all. Unless it's eating crayons or sucking on batteries. She is OBSESSED with the remote. And because it's broken, she can take the back right off and pull out the batteries. Then she scatters the batteries and hides the remote. It's a constant battle!
-She will only drink a bottle laying flat on her back by herself. Sometimes I'm at a place where she can't just lay down on the ground and so I try to feed her in my arms...total no go. I've just embraced it. Yes my baby is laying on the cement under my table at the Habit; that's the only way she'll eat!!
-Her siblings make her laugh the hardest and she tries to follow them frequently. Sometimes Jude and Ellie are down with that. Sometimes they scream because baby godzilla is destroying their train tracks.
-Lucy is my sweet little baby and I am actually seeing the possible end of babyhood in our house for the first time. I'm still guessing they'll be #4 but probably not anytime soon. It's kind of sad and I'm mostly trying to ignore my feelings on it to be honest. I think choosing to have more kids is actually much much easier than choosing to stop having them.
-We just love and adore Lucy! She may get carted around and forgotten under the table eating leftover cheerios like a true 3rd child, but we couldn't imagine life without her!

Happy Birthday to Lucy. Can't believe how fast she grew!
