Day Out With Thomas

Ah, the magical day finally arrived. The day we took Jude to see Thomas the train. IN PERSON. It was like heaven for a two year old!

So the geniuses behind Thomas the Train decided that they could milk even more money out of this empire by creating an actual Thomas train that travels around the country and visits different railroads. And of course, once I heard about it, I knew I had to take Jude. Despite the ridiculous price tag, it was super fun and definitely worth it!

Jude talked about it constantly from the day we bought the tickets. Almost everyday he would ask if we were going to see Thomas (I'd always tell him Thomas hadn't made it to our station yet).

The Roaring Camp Railroad, where the event was held, is actually a really neat place! I'd love to take Jude there some other time. They have a steam train that drives you to the beach and even a narrow gauge railroad (yes, I know a LOT about trains thanks to Jude).

We took a little train ride into the Santa Cruz forest on Thomas (don't tell Jude Thomas didn't actually pull the cars...the engine in back did). At first, Jude was really nervous about the "open car" but after a few minutes he loved it!

We took a picture with Thomas, but sadly, it was super over-priced, so we didn't get one. I'm kinda bummed about it since it was pretty cute, but oh well. So this will just have to serve as proof.

They had some other fun activities like coloring, trains tables, and a moon bounce. Jude wanted to meet Sir Topham Hatt, but mom and dad didn't want to wait for an hour in line.

Overall, day out with Thomas was a success!
