Oh yeah...

I never can remember how far along I am, when I'm due, or sometimes just the fact that I'm pregnant. Can you tell this is #3?

I've also realized I neglected to make the big gender reveal, which I would never have done anyways since I kinda hate those things, but I should have at least told you.

It's a girl!!!
another awesome photo of a photo. once day I'll use my scanner I swear.

I was 99.9999% convinced it was a boy this whole time, and since I was right with my other two I just assumed I would be correct. Nope. I actually asked the ultrasound technician if they were sure twice. Not that I'm disappointed at all (other than being wrong); I love, love, love little girls. More princesses for us!

We also had a little moment when my early genetic screening came back positive for down syndrome. But we did an amniocentesis and confirmed there is nothing abnormal about her chromosomes. (And it's definitely a girl... I'm still wrong.) Honestly, the possibility of having a down syndrome child really didn't worry us or even phase us. All children are beautiful and wonderful and we love them no matter what! But we did decide it would be good to know for sure and prepare ourselves so we opted to do all the testing. Lots of family members were praying for our little girl and we know the Lord's hand is at work in our lives.

Jude and Eleanor are becoming increasingly excited about the baby. Ellie loves to talk about the "bebe" and likes to lift up my shirt (usually in public) to take a look at her. She says she wants to feed her bottles and take her to the doctor, but absolutely will not share her princesses. Jude wants to know where baby comes from, like literally where they come out, and seems to think she'll come out ready to ride bikes and read books with him.

Now that I know the gender and all, it's feeling much more real. I'm getting super excited for another little baby to love and hold and rock and lose sleep over.

  1. I am so glad you are having another girl. We need some more to balance out the grandkids. So glad all is well with her and that she is going to a great family! You and Peter are awesome parents!
