October

Octobers are just wonderful. I'm sure I don't even need to say that. We love getting ready for Halloween, watching leaves fall, and starting our fun fall traditions. I do wish it wasn't so hot, though. I'm ready for cold weather! But, this is California, so there's no such thing as seasons.

We've been decorating our house for Halloween. It's really fantastic to finally have a house to decorate! I can't go super crazy, since our lawn and such are shared with neighbors, but it's wonderful to finally be able to put up lights OUTSIDE. I'm also trying not to go too crazy so I don't fill up every inch in one year, and never get to make anymore new things for Halloween.

I'm especially proud of our witch this year. This is our 3rd year with her, and now she's really looking good!

Of course, we started our fall traditions by going to the pumpkin patch. Last year's pumpkin patch was really hard to beat, but this one was decent enough. Joan's Farm out in Livermore was pretty great for little kids. They had all the usual activities, animals, kid's train, hayride, and of course, pumpkins. It was hilarious just how excited and happy Eleanor was over the pumpkins. She just wanted to climb around and on them over and over. We even managed to snap some cute photos in the pumpkins.

Fall is great; I'm just super excited for the next few months! Trick or treating in our new neighborhood, hosting our first Thanksgiving, and then Christmas at Grandma's. Jude talks about these holidays almost constantly (when he's not talking about trains). I'm glad some of my excitement is started to wear off on the kids, haha.
