10 things: Eleanor

And now, here's my list about Eleanor at 5 months.

1. Eleanor is STUBBORN. If she doesn't want to do it, she will fight you. Every. single. time. We just recently were able to get her to take a bottle from Dad instead of Mom but she's still iffy about others. We've been sleep training her for a month and she still cries it out every time. Stubborn.

2. Ellie is desperate to get moving. She loves to roll and scoot around on the floor. But she becomes easily frustrated when something's out of her reach or when people move away from her. We've caught her several times up on her knees like she's threatening to crawl already!

3. When Ellie smiles, she squints up her eyes, just like Mom.

4. Eleanor loves rice cereal! This was really surprising to me, since most babies don't care for it or actually eat it. Jude just refused. But Ellie actually wants to eat it; she kicks her legs and leans as far forward as she can to try and get some quicker.

5. This girl has enough hair that I can put it into a tiny ponytail already!

6. When Eleanor starts to get frustrated or tired, she blows raspberries. She sounds so annoyed when she does it too; it cracks me up.

7. Unfortunately, Ellie hates baths. Jude always loved them, but Ellie is not so sure. She tries to roll over in her tiny bath tub to get away. But she's the second child, so she only gets a bath like once a week (if I remember).

8. Ellie hardly ever cries, even when her brother is less than gentle with her. She's just happy and content to play with her toys or sit on your lap. So glad she's such an even-tempered baby!

9. Eleanor does not like to follow a schedule very much. Jude was a very predictable baby and followed a pretty typical schedule. Ellie is more all over the place. I've managed to get her to take two naps, but when those naps happen varies from day to day. Slowly, she's getting more to a schedule, which I prefer.

 10. Her favorite toy? Trains and train tracks! Maybe they taste the best because Jude carries them everywhere? She just loves to do whatever Jude is doing. Sucking on a piece of wooden track seems to be her favorite activity. Jude is usually very willing to share a train with her, and even tries to play with her, but he doesn't understand that she'll grab anything you put in front of her. He becomes a little hysterical when she tries to grab what he's playing with. I'm still hopeful they'll be friends.
