I had a premonition during Eleanor's ultrasound that she would be a spirited baby. Not a bad baby, but a little stubborn and very determined. And that's exactly how she is! Today I took Eleanor to her 6 month doctor appointment. As I discussed some of my concerns with the doctor, I think she described the situation the best: Ellie's just a big person trapped in a baby body.
And it is so true! Lately, Ellie won't let me hold her to feed her. She insists on laying on the ground and holding her own bottle... and after about 2 minutes she gets distracted, rolls over, and starts playing. Seriously, it takes FOREVER to get her to finish a bottle, if I don't just give up first. She's just too excited to get going! The doctor suggested we try using a sippy cup instead, which I think may actually work.
I noticed around 2 months how interested Eleanor is in food. This girl loves her rice cereal and I can tell she's desperate to try more. I'm starting her on solid foods now and I think the bottle will be long gone soon enough.
Ellie is not a crier. She honestly barely ever cries. However, this past week or so she's been fussy a lot. She squawks and blows her angry raspberries in frustration a lot. At first I thought it was gas or maybe she's hungry or tired or whatever, but none of those things seem to solve the problem. You know what I really think it is? I think she just gets BORED! She sees her brother and she wants to move and run and play, and she just gets angry that she's stuck on the floor.
I wrote earlier about Ellie's army crawling across the floor. She's now pushing onto her knees and trying to figure out how to move! Even more, she loves to stand; I think she may be trying to figure out walking!
Eleanor! You are growing up too fast! With Jude I couldn't wait for him to hit the next milestone and do new things. Ellis is the opposite; I want my little baby girl forever! I have another premonition that I have a very strong, independent woman on my hands here.
Can't you just stay little forever?!
