Camping Out

Lots of photos with this one, so I'll spare you a lengthy description... This week we had the chance to go camping with my family. We went to the Humboldt Redwoods, an absolutely gorgeous national park up in Northern California. I loved the beautiful coastal towns and giant redwoods. Jude had a blast playing in the tent and riding in the baby backpack. His new best friend is Grandpa; by the end of the week he cried whenever Grandpa walked away. I also noticed something about the difference between Hamilton and Langlois vacations. At the Hamilton's we eat a ton of rich, fancy food like lamb and tri tip. At the Langlois' its just tons of easy foods and candy candy candy. Both are awesome and great ways to kill your diet! Overall, it was a great trip!
A look up at the huge redwood trees around us.
The roots of a fallen tree... these things are massive
Jude and Grandpa. Of course his silly voices won Jude over immediately
Going for a hike
Jude still LOVES to play in the ocean, even when it's freezing
Playing in the water at the starfish touch tank. Jude just loved cruising back and forth along the tank, splashing the water everywhere.
We actually got him to touch the sea cucumber, but he may have squeezed a little too hard... did you know they eject their guts?
Beautiful little town of Trinidad. I want to own a vacation home here
The rope is way cooler than the actual hammock
Crawling in the river. This place was perfect for Jude, except the bottom was all rocks and he kept trying to eat them.
Much better in the sandy banks of the river
Dad pulls us around the river. Too bad Jude was way more interested in the buckle on his life jacket to actually care
The Lost Coast. Definitely worth the windy drive to get there
