Into the Wild

We decided to celebrate Memorial Day by taking our first family camping trip into Provo Canyon. We LOVE camping! For his first time, Jude seemed to really enjoy it as well. We had a huge fire, made foil dinners, and roasted smores. Did you know they make Reese's in a bar form? PERFECT SMORE. The only downside: it was FREEZING at night and our summer camp gear was not really up to the challenge. I got only a few hours of sleep thanks to the cold, but at least Jude slept pretty well.
The next day we finally went to go check out Timpanogos Cave! Its been on our Utah to-do list forever, and I figured since we are moving a week, we should probably get on that. It was SO cool! I love caves; most of my childhood vacations involved climbing in caves all over the West, so I was excited to share the Langlois tradition with Peter. To get to the cave you have to hike up the mountain about a mile. The hike was like hiking to the Y--lots of switchbacks and elevation climb, but it was definitely worth it. The cave was amazing inside! Actually, there are 3 caves connected by tunnels. We learned that a lot of the rocks were used in the SLC Temple. Peter was a trooper; he carried Jude all the way up the mountain and did gymnastics a few times to wiggle Jude in his carrier through narrow spots in the cave. Overall, I highly recommend it to anyone in the area! One of the best things we have done in Utah.
As you can probably tell from the pictures, Jude has become a total binkie baby in the past few weeks. A Good thing? Not so sure yet.
